Admissions COVID-19 Response
COVID-19 has not affected how we evaluate applications at the University of Arkansas. Every application will receive full consideration. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and further developments, our office will implement these temporary measures:
GRE Score (GMAT or other Graduate-level Standardized Test)
Educational Testing Service (ETS) has introduced a solution for students who have been affected by the coronavirus to take the GRE® General Test at home. The University of Arkansas Graduate School requires a standardized test score (GRE, GMAT or other graduate-level standardized test) for official admission to the university. For Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023 applicants, the Graduate School is extending the test-optional policy for select programs. If you do not see your program of study, contact your program directly.

Academic Credential
We recognize that some universities in areas affected by COVID-19 are currently closed and students may be unable to obtain official transcripts and other academic credentials at this time. For admissions review purposes, we can review and make admissions decisions with unofficial copies of transcripts. If you have concerns regarding the credentials you can provide at this time, please contact our office at gradapp@uark.edu.
Admitted Student Information
For admitted students, while official copies of transcripts and degree confirmations are required to be submitted prior to enrollment, we will work with students who have degrees conferred late and/or are unable to obtain official credentials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently Enrolled Student Information
For currently enrolled students who need to provide official transcripts and degree confirmation and are unable to do so due to the temporary closings of universities, please contact the Graduate and International Admissions Office as soon as possible.
Deferring Your Admission
The Graduate School offers admission with the expectation that students will matriculate in the semester specified during the application process. If extraordinary circumstances will prevent you from matriculating, you may submit a request to defer your enrollment to the next available start term. This is typically one consecutive semester, but in some cases can be one consecutive academic year. Please consult with your Graduate Program Advisor or Program Coordinator to confirm which option is available. If you have been awarded financial assistance, make sure you find out if the financial resource(s) will still be available to you if you defer.
Additionally, coursework completed since your application was submitted must be reported and will be reviewed in the deferral process. If you need to defer your entry term beyond the allowable time limit, you must reapply. If you have questions regarding the deferral process, please contact our office at gradapp@uark.edu.

If you have difficulty accessing any of these test options, please contact our office at gradapp@uark.edu.
