Description and Justification for this request A new, 30 hour Masters of Professional Accounting with concentrations in Analytics and Assurance, Taxation, and Corporate Accounting utilizing existing courses within the Master of Accountancy and other Walton programs. One new tax course, ACCT 5853, State and Local Taxation, is being developed.
| The ACCTMP is responsive to the shifting skillset and additional demands within the Accounting Profession. More Universities are adapting specialized content into their graduate accounting degrees. Whereas past accounting Master degrees tended to be general in nature, more specialized degree paths and skills are being sought by career entrants. Emerging technology is changing
the core ways that the accounting profession is providing services. As a result, new skills that involve data analytics are needed.
Complementing these technical skills, the workplace has increased its emphasis on the development of soft skills, such as leadership and professionalism. The complexity of business environments that accounting professionals face has also increased
the demand for richer content, including complex tax issues, technology environments, regulatory reporting requirements among others. The importance of Internships has also increased. We are also seeing a greater number of our students take initial accounting employment outside of traditional public accounting roles.

Description and justification of the request The admission requirements have been changed to only require the GRE for applicants with a GPA below 3.5 in prior graduate work. To take a more holistic approach, the admissions committee will rely on educational experience, academic qualifications, writing sample, and quality of fit between the student and the
Ed.S. program. | The Ed.S. is a practitioner degree and our applicants must have already earned a Master's degree with a GPA over 3.25. By setting a cutoff at 3.5, we are expecting applicants to have completed prior academic work with a high level of achievement. This
is more than sufficient, when considered alongside the other data points, for admission to the Ed.S.
The Ed.S program is being revised to add concentrations in Program Administration, K-12 Online Teaching, Literacy/Dyslexia, and Education Examiner. | These changes add additional options for UA students
concurrently seeking educator endorsement in a specific specialization and an advanced graduate degree.

Effective Catalog Year Fall 2021 Fall 2022
Description and justification of the request Courses were updated to reflect current offerings in CIED and ESRM. Some course numbers and titles were out of date. Other courses were no longer offered and were replaced by courses that are offered and taught regularly. The specific requirements for the Interest Area courses were replaced with a 9 hour minimum required block of courses approved by the faculty advisory committee.
I also added two Course of Study grids for Odd and Even year matriculation. Finally, the admission criteria omits the GRE in favor
of a process based on prior experience and academic achievement. | This program no longer existed in reality as it was represented on paper. It was far too specific when it was created and relied upon classes that were rarely, if ever, taught. All of the courses in this current iteration of the program are already offered and taught on a regular basis. Adding flexibility to the Interest Area allows students to supplement the core offerings with specific interest areas, while also allowing for the variability of course offerings that is typical for these areas.
Addition of the 4+1 admission option | The 4+1 model is in the best interest of many of our CIED students who are graduating with bachelor's degrees but will need to seek a master's degree for advancement purposes.

Effective Catalog Year Fall 2021 Summer 2022
CIP Code Architecture. Architectural and Building Sciences/ Technology.
Description and justification of the request Inserting admission requirements including waiving a standardized test score (GRE) and process of application review using SlideRoom into the catalog copy. | The Master of Design Studies is a post-professional degree serving practitioners within the architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design fields. The strengths of design practitioners are better revealed through a rigorous portfolio review, where problem analysis and solutions are communicated graphically, pictorially, and verbally. This is a better indicator of student success compared to a standardized exam.
Further, the GRE and other standardized exams are a barrier, both financially and perceptually, to a diverse range of student applicants.
Update CIP code. | The Master of Design Studies degree is multidisciplinary with students from architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design professionals accepted into the program. As a post professional degree, the integration
of complex systems within the built environment is foundational to all of the degree concentrations. The continued and dramatic changes in the climate bring these technologies to the forefront and require important awareness of and response to these changing demands.

Description and justification of the request Removal of the GRE requirement for admission. | All applicants to the program are registered nurses and have passed a standardized licensure test which indicates their ability to critically think and analyze solutions. The program has lost applicants because of the GRE stipulation due to many other programs not requiring it, making the program less competitive. Faculty do not feel that the GRE is a valid indicator of success in this program. Faculty are exploring other potential screening exams and will consider the addition of another screening exam if it is determined that it would add value to the admission process. Substituting ENGL 5453 Technical Writing in Healthcare Settings for NURS 5403 Scholarly Writing\\nMade the following additions and changes to requirements and descriptions
of the program\\nAdded: The semester of entry can be spring, summer, or fall.\\n\

\nA 3.0 cumulative GPA on the last 60 credit hours of attempted coursework in previous nursing program\\n | the ENGL course is prepared to teach students the mechanics of technical writing \\n\\nChanged wording is easier for students to understand requirements in Catalog
