Mission and Purpose of International Agreements at U of A

The University of Arkansas and the Graduate School and International Education understand and support the benefits that global collaborations bring to the U of A campus and state of Arkansas. Building strong and active international partnerships supports the institutional mission to provide internationally competitive education, research and collaborative service. For this reason, the University of Arkansas actively seeks engaged, active and productive partnerships with universities, research institutions, organizations, and governments around the world.

What is an MOU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a formal document describing two or more parties’ intent to collaborate through future activities. It is not a legally binding document but signals the intention of all parties to move forward cooperatively towards a mutually productive goal.

The resources available will guide the development of an international agreement, whether a basic Memorandum of Understanding or a more complex exchange or degree program.
