Summer Research Graduate Assistantship
For 9-month Doctoral/MFA graduate assistants.
Students may apply for a summer research graduate assistantship when no other funding sources are available. Application must be made to seek this funding using the application form linked below. The department should provide a statement describing that alternative summer support is not available and describe how support was provided previously and will be in the future.
Funding for these assistantships are limited and will be competitive. Applications must be submitted to the Graduate School by April 1 with a decision made by April 15. The student must register for three credit hours and tuition costs for these credits will be covered in the award. Students may register for more than three credits, but this tuition cost will not be covered.
The total award base wage payable to the student will be approximately $4500, paid through Workday in May, June, July, and August plus the cost of tuition for three credit hours.
- Students must have been a degree seeking doctoral/MFA student in Spring 2022. Students who are admitted to doctoral/MFA programs in Summer 2022 or Fall 2022 are not eligible to apply.
- Students must have been on a 9-month Graduate Assistantship position in Spring 2022 paid through the University of Arkansas (Workday). Students who are on fellowships or other funding and were not paid as a Graduate Assistant through Workday are not eligible to apply.
- Students must be in good academic standing and must not have completed their degree program before Summer 2022
- Students who held a Doctoral DDF or DAF fellowship in Spring 2022 are not eligible to apply
