Non-Degree Seeking Students

Admission as a special, non-degree seeking student is not intended to serve as a means of access to regular, graduate degree-seeking status.  Non-degree students who later wish to pursue a graduate degree must reapply for admission as a graduate degree-seeking student and meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School and be admitted by the academic program.

Application Deadlines

We recommend submitting all materials to the Office of Graduate and International Admissions at least one month before the departmental deadline.

For departments with no deadlines, and for non-degree, returning, visiting and senior citizens, all application materials, including all transcripts and any required test scores, should reach the Graduate School by the deadlines listed below.

Application deadlines for the Graduate School are:

  • Fall semester: August 1
  • Spring semester: December 1
  • Summer sessions: April 15

Applications received after the deadline will be automatically deferred to the next available Spring or Fall semester.

Application Process

  1. Submit an online application for Graduate Admissions
  2. Pay the $30 application fee**
  3. If your native language is not English: submit verification of English proficiency

**Application fee may be waived under certain circumstances.
