Rome Center Faculty Fellowship

Larry Foley and students at Palazzo Taverna

Funded through the Graduate School and International Education, the Rome Center Faculty Fellowship is designed for all full-time University of Arkansas faculty members interested in conducting research, scholarship, or creative activity abroad. The fellowship provides funding for a four-to-six-week residency at the University of Arkansas’s Rome Center in either the fall or spring terms. During their time abroad, fellows must provide at least one general lecture to the students studying at the Rome Center. In addition, fellows must provide a written report of their activities and accomplishments during their residency to the GSIE leadership team.

The fellowship aims to leverage the University of Arkansas’s Rome Center as a hub for engagement in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Accordingly, fellows are provided the opportunity to advance their scholastic activities while engaging in the culture of Rome and the broader region.

The fellowship stipend includes up to $2,000 in round-trip airfare, housing, a $1,000 travel stipend, and international supplemental insurance. All other costs, such as food, local transportation, and personal living expenses are at the cost of the participant.

Those interested in applying for a Rome Center Faculty Fellowship should email Lindsey Aloia, Associate Dean of GSIE, at aloia@uark.edu with the following information:
