College of Education and Health Professions

    1. New Program Proposal: ADLLED-AELD: Adult & Lifelong Learning: Adult Education Leadership Concentration
    2. Adding two concentration areas to the ADLL Ed.D. program. Adding concentration areas to catalog to match the new proposed structure of the ADLL Ed.D. program.

Presented by Kevin Roessger. Motion approved.

    3. New Program Proposal: ADLLED-CCLD: Adult & Lifelong Learning: Community College Leadership Concentration
    4. Adding a concentration area of community college leadership to the ADLL EdD program. Clarifying catalog language around the courses required for the new concentration area. Adding two new concentration areas to the ADLL EdD program to match the new structure of the program of study.

Presented by Kevin Roessger. Motion approved.

    5. Program Change Request: ADLLED: Adult & Lifelong Learning, Doctor of Education
    6. Changing number of hours required from 96 to 60- now requiring a MS for admission instead of allowing MS hours to count toward the 96 hours. Adding language about the two different concentration areas. Removing the GRE as a requirement for admission. 96-hour requirement was very confusing for prospective students and hurt recruitment. To clean up the language, it was changed to requiring a MS degree instead of making the MS part of the Ed.D. requirement. Made the total hours required to be 60 to be more in line with ADHE requirements and to help with recruitment. Also, dropped GRE to aid in recruitment of students and to be more in line with the trends in other programs.

Presented by Kevin Roessger. Motion approved.

    7. Program Change Request: ATTRMA: Athletic Training, Master of Athletic Training
    8. Adding an accelerated program (3+2). The Master of Athletic Training program proposes to create an accelerated Master of Athletic Training pathway (accel.M.AT.) for Exercise Science undergraduate students in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation. This total five-year program will draw upon and build on the content and requirements of the existing Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and the existing Master Athletic Training degree though the proposed program, which will offer a pathway for students to earn both the programs within five years.

Presented by Luzita Vela. Motion approved.

    9. Program Change Request: NURSDP-FNPR: Nursing: Family Practitioner Concentration
    10. Moved BSN-DNP courses to NURSDP program to better align total number of hours required for DNP completion. This helps clarify what courses are actually part of the concentration.

Presented by Luzita Vela. Motion approved.

    11. Program Change Request: NURSDP: Nursing Practice, Doctor of Nursing Practice
    12. Moved BSN-DNP hours (18) to more clearly identify total required hours to award DNP degree. Added clarification of 21 hours of concentration or APRN coursework awarded to include all 79 hours needed for DNP completion.

Presented by Matt Ganio. Motion approved.

    13. Program Change Request: PSBLMC: Building-Level Administration K-12 Post Master’s Certificate
    14. Changed CIP code. The original CIP code (13.0404) is not appropriate. This certificate is embedded within the Educational Leadership Master's program, which has a CIP code of 13.0401. Therefore, it is more appropriate to have the CIP codes be the same.

Presented by Matt Ganio. Motion approved.

    15. Program Change Request: PSDLMC: District-Level Administration Post Master’s Certificate

Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences

    1. Program Change Request: MEDDGC: Music Education for Students with Differences and Disabilities Graduate Certificate
    2. Title change for the program. Corresponding code change. The philosophy of teaching students has evolved to reflect abandonment of the ableist term “special needs” just as has happened in the past with other pejorative terms. The new title is more reflective of the intent and content of the certificate.

      Janet Knighton presented. Motion approved.

    3. Program Change Request: HISTMA: History, Master’s of Arts

    6. To convey to applicants that the GRE is now optional for Ph.D. applicants. To reflect a policy change in the department.

      David McNabb presented. Motion approved.

    7. Program Change Request: GEOGMS: Geography, Master of Science
    8. Change in designated CIP code from 45.0701 - Geography to 30.4401 - Geography and Environmental Studies. The new CIP code more closely aligns with programmatic expertise and content as offered through the MS Geography degree in the Department of Geosciences.

Brad Peter presented on behalf of Jason Tullis. Motion approved.

    9. Program Change Request: MUSCMM: Music, Master of Music
    10. Eliminating GRE requirement for musicology concentration.

      David McNabb presented. Motion approved.

    11. Program Change Request: GISTGC: Geographic Information Science and Cartography
    12. Changing CIP code from 45.0702 Geographic Information Science and Cartography to 30.4401 Geography and Environmental Studies.

The new CIP code more closely aligns with the newer classification established by the National Center for Education Statistics. For example, the new CIP code recognizes "climate science, sustainability, environmental science and policy, research methods, geographic information systems (GIS), human geography, physical geography, remote sensing, and public policy". The online geospatial certificates were previously coded as "Geographic Information Science and Cartography" which certainly captured a large part of what the certificates focus on. However, the new geography code which encompasses technical geography makes the most sense in terms of a) providing a strong geography and environmental studies context for the certificates (which simply reflects the reality of these studies), and b) meet ADHE viability requirements by combining the certificate with the bachelor's and master's degrees in geography.

Motion was approved via remote vote on 11/29/2023.
